Certainly people have questions and concerns about joining a group of strangers.  Feel free to contact us with any, but we try to answer the more obvious ones here.

1. Q:  What exactly is "Role-Playing?"
1. A:  It's a social game, where the fun is in playing, not winning or losing.  Think of it as in interactive story.  Players create a "character" that interacts with the plot or "adventure" the gamemaster lays out.  If you've ever said, "If I were Han Solo, I would have done...", well, nows your chance.

2.  Q:  What does it cost to play?
2.  A:  Nothing.  Although we'd hope you'd spring for your own dice and pencil.  If you wish to start collecting books, they range from $12 - $45.  Like most hobbies, it can get expensive, but no matter your budget, you should be able to afford a few things from time to time.  But again, buying books, maps, accessories is not required.

3.  Q:  I heard these games lead to devil worship.  Is this true?
3.  A:  RPGs lead to satanism as much as smoking pot leads to podiatry.  It can happen, but very, very, rarely.  Seriously, the big misconception is that players tend to "read" spells out loud or recite incantations, because their character may be a wizard or sorceror.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  "Casting a spell" is done by a player declairing "I cast protection on myself" followed by rolling the dice to see if he did it or not.  The idea of wizards and knights fighting dragons and monsters has a certain pagan-like imagery, but that's the extent.  Further, that's only one type of genre.  Star Wars itself is a role-playing game where players play Jedis and pilots as they face Stormtroopers and Hutts.  And that's just one example.

4. Q:  When do you guys play?
4. A:  Every Sunday, from about 1pm till 7pm.  We are looking to start up a Saturday game as well if enough interest is shown.

5. Q: Where are you located?
5. A:  We're in southern Charlotte, right off of 77, exit 4.

6. Q: Do you play any collectable card games?  Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc?
6. A: No.  While those games are fun, we focus mostly on role-playing.

7. Q: What about other types of games?
7. A: On occasion we have played board games or other hobby related games, like Zombies, Cosmic Encounter, Hero Clix, etc.

8. Q: What about miniatures, like Warhammer?
8. A:  We do once in a great while.  Only 2 of our members really collect and play those games and they are nice enough to bring their stuff over and set up, as well as let us play with their toys too.  We're not against miniature play, just be aware that you should have a sizable collection to share with those non-collecters.
